What's Coming in 2026: CraftDesk's Roadmap

A preview of what we're building this year — from mobile apps to advanced permissions.

2025 was a year of deepening. We made the platform faster, more reliable, and more flexible. We listened to your feedback and built usage-based billing, real-time analytics, and API enhancements. As we look ahead to 2026, we're expanding the vision—not just making CraftDesk better, but making it accessible anywhere, for any team structure.

What We're Building in 2026

1. Native Mobile Apps (iOS & Android)

Your project doesn't stop when you leave your desk. We're building native iOS and Android apps that give you full read-write access to your workspace.

Not web wrappers—native apps. Push notifications for urgent updates, offline sync so you can work on flights, home screen widgets showing your current tasks.

The apps will launch mid-Q2 and reach feature parity with the web platform by Q4.

2. Advanced Permissions & Custom Roles

Today, roles are built-in (Admin, Member, Guest). In 2026, you can define custom roles with granular permissions.

Examples:

  • "Analytics Viewer" – Can see dashboards but can't modify tasks
  • "API Manager" – Can manage API keys and webhooks but can't view project content
  • "Time Lead" – Can manage team members and timesheets, but read-only on projects
  • "Client Reviewer" – Can comment and view specific projects, nothing else

This unlocks CraftDesk for larger organizations with complex permission structures. Compliance-heavy industries get audit trails per action per role.

3. Project Templates Marketplace

Tired of recreating the same project structure? The Templates Marketplace launches Q2.

Pre-built templates for:

  • Agile/Scrum sprints
  • Kanban workflows
  • Client services delivery
  • Product launches
  • Marketing campaigns
  • Software development (with pre-created phases and review gates)

Each template is customizable. Create one for your organization, save it, share it with your team. Teams will also be able to publish templates for the community.

4. Enhanced API with GraphQL

Our REST API is solid, but GraphQL unlocks better efficiency for complex queries.

You'll get:

  • GraphQL support alongside REST (not replacement)
  • Webhooks for real-time events (subscribe to "comment.created", "task.assigned")
  • Batch operations (update 100 tasks in one request)
  • Cursor-based pagination improvements for large datasets

This is perfect for teams building custom dashboards, integrations, and monitoring tools.

5. Performance Upgrades & Global CDN

We're investing heavily in speed. New infrastructure for 2026:

  • Global CDN edge network – Static assets served from locations near you. Dashboard loads in <500ms globally.
  • Database query optimization – Smarter indexing and caching reduce response latency.
  • Search infrastructure – Full-text search across all your projects and comments, indexed and instant.
  • Real-time sync improvements – WebSocket overhead reduced, message bundling to avoid notification spam.

By Q4 2026, CraftDesk will be 3x faster on average page load than today.

6. Advanced Webhook Ecosystem

Beyond the API, webhooks let your systems listen to CraftDesk events:

  • Task created/updated/deleted
  • Comment posted
  • Team member added/removed
  • Subscription events
  • Quota alerts

Build integrations that respond to events in real-time without polling. This is the foundation for a rich app ecosystem.

7. Team Analytics Expansion

We're adding team-focused metrics:

  • Capacity planning – Forecast team availability and project timelines.
  • Skills matching – Track expertise (frontend, backend, design) and recommend team composition.
  • Burnout detection – Alert managers if team members are consistently overworked.
  • Collaboration metrics – See which team members work together well, identify silos.

These are available starting Professional plan and require explicit opt-in (privacy-first).

Investment in Stability

Beyond features, we're doubling down on reliability:

  • Uptime SLA – By Q2, we're guaranteeing 99.95% uptime (currently 98.9%).
  • Disaster recovery – Multi-region backups, tested quarterly.
  • Security audits – Third-party penetration tests and SOC 2 compliance.
  • Load testing – We're stress-testing to 10x current scale to ensure headroom.

Stability enables everything else. We're not racing to add features—we're building a foundation you can trust with your team's critical work.

Feedback Shapes the Roadmap

This roadmap isn't set in stone. We take feedback seriously. If you have strong opinions about what we should prioritize, reach out. Your use case might shift our priorities.

The features listed here represent our best judgment based on community feedback, but we're flexible. We might ship mobile apps before templates, or launch webhooks before custom roles. We'll communicate changes as priorities shift.

How to Stay Informed

  • Monthly updates – First Friday of every month, we share progress on this roadmap.
  • GitHub Discussions – Detailed technical discussions about upcoming features.
  • In-app announcements – When features move from planned to beta to launch, you'll see it in your account.

Thank You

2025 was only possible because of your trust and feedback. You pushed us to build an API, to add analytics, to support multiple currencies, to respect your data. In 2026, we're channeling that trust into deeper features and broader accessibility.

Here's to building something remarkable together.
